Fresh tendrils…

This morning I checked the seeds I sowed last week – basil, courgette and french beans. The  result – the courgettes and basil have started sprouting.  There is something so magical about seeing the first signs of life from a tiny little seed which I poked into the soil not so long ago!

The seeds were free from the BBC dig in campaign.  I think that the beeb might have run out of seeds now though I’m afraid.  I watered the seeds with free rain water from my water butt (more on that later).  All I need now is the allotment to plant them out into.  I think that is going to take some time so those little plants will be going out onto the patio in some pots when they are a bit more established and hardened off.
